Father-and-son Attila and Márk Mózer will
return to the FIA European Rallycross Championship in 2024, with the pair committing
to a full campaign in the headlining Euro RX1 category – and both determined to
get one over on the other!
Mózer Snr made his debut in the series back in
2012, since when he has contested selected rounds – scoring points in more than
half of his appearances at Euro RX1 level and reaching the semi-final on six
occasions, registering a career-high result of seventh in Norway in 2022.
Competing under the Nyirád Motorsport KFT banner,
last year marked the Hungarian’s finest performance to-date, tallying five
points finishes from six starts on his way to 12th in the championship
standings.
“We have rebuilt both cars over the winter, so I’m very excited about
this season,” enthused Mózer Snr, talking about the Ford Fiestas the team will
run in 2024. “What is important for me are good results and a nice atmosphere –
and last but not least, to beat my son!”
Mózer Jnr – a championship runner-up on the domestic rallycross scene in
his maiden campaign of competition – joined his father on the Euro RX grid at Nyirád
two years ago, advancing to the semi-final stage first time out. A further
brace of outings in 2023 yielded another points-scoring result on home soil –
and he is looking forward to getting his teeth into a concerted challenge over
the upcoming months.
“I’m very excited because this will be my first assault on the full European
Championship season,” the 32-year-old remarked. “Having rebuilt the whole car fills
me with the hope of very good results. The goal is the semi-final in every round
– and to beat my father!”
