ESmotorsport has taken the wraps off the car with which it plans to contest the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2024 – the striking Škoda Fabia RX1e.
The Lithuanian outfit is no stranger to the international rallycross scene, having previously run cars for Reinis Nitišs, Kevin Abbring and Rokas Baciuška in World RX. In 2021, Andreas Bakkerud sped to Euro RX1 title glory with the squad.
Having initially targeted graduation to the highest level off the back of that success in 2022, ESmotorsport is now ready to join the grid next year with its newly-built Fabia RX1e, constructed by Blue Engineering with the support of ORECA and Reiger engineers.
“Motorsport is increasingly about sustainability – this is the new reality, and we must prepare for the future,” commented team owner Ernestas Staponkus, a former racer himself.
“It has been a big project, but the Fabia RX1e is finished and ready to race. It has been built according to the highest standards and will be competitive in the next season of World RX. Now we are looking for a driver who can fight for the highest places and achieve excellent results with us in the world championship.”
