Britain’s Guy Wilks kickstarted his motorsport career in 2000 when he was crowned Ford Ka Junior Champion. A couple of years later, Wilks entered the British Rally Championship (BRC) finishing fifth overall. In 2003, he contested the Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) driving a Ford Puma before switching to a works entry with Suzuki the following year. Over the next three years, Wilks won five rallies and finished second in JWRC in 2005. In 2007, Wilks moved up to compete in WRC and entered BRC where he won the BRC title with Mitsubishi. Wilks competed in 43 WRC events in total. The Englishman made his World RX debut in 2015, when Wilks contested World RX of Great Britain at Lydden Hill finishing sixth overall. He contested a further four World RX events as well as commentating regularly on the World Championship TV feed. In 2017, Wilks will enter World RX as a full-time independent entry driving a Volkswagen RX Polo Supercar and backed by LOCO energy drink.
