Timur Timerzyanov made his racing debut after choosing motorsport over a burgeoning career in gymnastics, the Russian racer switching first to karting before pursuing rallycross as his chosen discipline. Success came quickly for Timerzyanov with a maiden first European title coming in the Super1600 category in 2010 prior to a move into the Supercar category the following year.
Joining Namus Hansen Motorsport, Timerzyanov secured back-to-back Euro RX titles driving a Citroen DS3 in 2012 and 2013 prior to the series evolving into the world championship.
One of the most experienced rallycross drivers on the grid, Timurzyanov continued to notch up podiums during stints with Namus OMSE (2015), MJP Team Austria (2016) and Team STARD (2017) but will embark on a fresh challenge with the GRX TANECO outfit in 2018, driving a Hyundai i20 alongside Niclas Gronholm.
