METTET RX ENTRY LIST REVEALED
The entry list for the third round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Mettet in Belgium (May 11-13) has been released by the FIA, where home hero Francois Duval joins the list of World RX stars at the event.
Former World Rally star and FIA European Rallycross Championship race winner Duval has been a regular competitor in his home round of World RX in recent years, driving a variety of Supercars. In 2018 he joins the 15 permanent World RX drivers at his home event by lining up on the grid in an ex-EKS Audi S1 RX quattro, run by Comtoyou Racing. The Mettet RX weekend will also be the home stop on the World RX schedule for Sebastien Loeb Racing’s Gregoire Demoustier.
Reigning RX2 International Series Champion Cyril Raymond will make his first full time Supercar appearance in the second round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship at Mettet, racing a Peugeot 208 WRX as part of a 28-car Euro RX Supercar entry. Sweden’s Magda Andersson, a former title-contender in the FIA European Rallycross Championship for TouringCar, will also embark on a four-round Euro RX programme from the Belgian round, driving for the DA Racing team.
The first of three 2018 FIA European Rallycross Championship for TouringCar rounds will be held in Belgium, with a solid entry of 17 drivers getting their campaigns underway. The entry list includes new Euro RX competitors and experienced names, including former TouringCar Champions Daniel Lundh and Fredrik Salsten. Belgian drivers Steve Volders (Ford Fiesta) and Filip Baelus (Volvo C30) will race in front of their home fans.
The Mettet RX event will also host the opening round of the 2018 RX2 International Series, featuring drivers like RallyX on Ice Champion Oliver Eriksson, RallyX Nordic Supercar Lites Champion William Nilsson, and British Rallycross Champion Nathan Heathcote. The full RX2 entry list will be released in due course.
