Norway’s Thomas Bryntesson will embark on a second FIA European Rallycross Championship season this year and is targeting the Supercar title.

Bryntesson finished second in Euro RX last year, his first year in Supercar, and won the French round at Loheac. He will continue to race an Olsbergs MSE built Ford Fiesta Supercar in 2018 in a two-car JC Raceteknik line up with countryman Ola Froshaug.

The pair will also contest a full RallyX Nordic season in 2018. Last year, Bryntesson beat Oliver Solberg in a battle for the title in the Nordic series. "The goal is to fight for victory in both championships. 2017 was a very good season for me, it was my first year in Supercar and I was level with the best of the competition,” said Bryntesson. “Everything was new for me, so it’s good to know that we to go into the second year with a lot to build on. At the same time, a lot can happen during the winter months, so it will be exciting to see how I compare with the other drivers. To stay sharp, I have been driving in some rallies in a Volvo 240 this winter. Obviously it’s different to a Supercar but it’s always good to have as much seat time as possible.”

Froshaug, formerly a Scandinavian Supernational rallycross competitor, is also looking forward to building on what he learnt in his first full Supercar season last year. He finished 10th in Euro RX. "Last year was the coolest thing I’ve done in my whole career. I’m very pleased to be able to drive for another season this year and I’m so excited that the races will start soon,” he said. “I learnt a lot from Thomas last season and he learnt a bit from me too. I have developed as a driver and the goal is to get a better result than last year.”
