Germany’s Timo Scheider and Sweden’s Kevin Eriksson signed for MJP Racing Team Austria for 2017 to race a pair of Ford Fiestas in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. MJP Racing finished as top privateers, fifth in the Teams’ Championship.

Qualifying Race Wins
TS 9 – 13 KE
Both drivers started the year with strong pace, and both won two qualifying races at round one in Barcelona. Eriksson also won two races in Portugal and Sweden, and only didn’t win a race in Latvia and South Africa. Scheider won two races in Cape Town, and only didn’t win at least one race in four of the events he competed in.
Quickest Qualifying Times:
TS 0 – 0 KE
The MJP drivers didn’t set a quickest qualifying time during the season, but two second quickest times in round one helped Scheider be TQ (top qualifier).
TS 8 – 7 KE
Scheider just beat his more experienced rallycross team mate to the most semi-finals, despite missing a round. Both drivers finished second in semi-finals to qualifying for the second row of the final, Scheider in Barcelona and South Africa, Eriksson at his home round in Sweden.
TS 2 – 3 KE
Scheider started his first full World RX season with a bang and finished second in Barcelona. He didn’t make the final again until the final round in South Africa. Eriksson appeared in the final three times. He was fifth in Belgium and Sweden, and fourth in Canada.
TS 109 – 101 KE
After the early part of the season, Eriksson moved ahead of Scheider in the World RX Driver’s Championship, but by scoring 20 points in Cape Town Scheider finished the year in front. The most points scored in a single weekend by an MJP driver was by Scheider at round one, with 26.
TS 10th – 11th KE
Scheider and Eriksson were the highest placed drivers behind the manufacturer supported teams in World RX, Eriksson matching his 2016 placing in 11th.
