Finland’s Jere Kalliokoski has signed for the new G-FORS team and will race a Renault Clio RS RX in the FIA European Rallycross Championship in 2018.

The 2016 Finnish Rallycross Champion competed in Euro RX full time in 2017 with the Albatec Racing team, twice reaching the semi-finals and finishing the year 13th overall.

“I’m looking forward to driving with the G-FORS team next year. It’s a new car and a new team but with very experienced team members and professionals. I’m confident that we will be competitive from race one when the season starts in Barcelona in April,” said 20-year old Kalliokoski. “I can hardly wait to get to the first test with the new car in early 2018! Last year I didn’t manage to get the result I wanted but next year I need to be in the top five in the Championship and need to feature regularly in the finals.”

The 2018 Euro RX Championship will join five World RX events in Barcelona, Belgium, Sweden, France and Latvia. “I’m really proud to work for a second year with Jere because he showed good speed last year and proved himself to be a reliable driver,” said G-FORS Technical Director, Stéphane Orré. “Atte (Varsta) and I think that if he continues to work hard, he will be a top driver in rallycross. We really want to help him have this opportunity with G-FORS and he has already organised to stay for a week in France to work with us.”
