Guerlain Chicherit has joined forces with FORS PERFORMANCE owner Stéphane Orre to create a new G-FORS rallycross team, which will build and run Renault Clio R.S. RX Supercars with the aim of furthering young drivers and to create a stepping stone into World RX.

G-FORS will run the Clios in the French, European and selected World Rallycross Championship events and will be managed by experienced rallycross team manager, Finland’s Atte Varsta.

"I am very excited to form G-FORS and to continue my collaboration with Atte Varsta. We have developed a strong relationship over the years and we both want to create one of the most successful teams in rallycross. We’re working hard on building extremely competitive Renault Clios and will push to produce the next European Rallycross Champion,” said G-FORS Technical Director, Stephane Orre.

France’s Chicherit will race in the FIA World Rallycross Championship in a two-car GCK team next year, with Renault Megane RS RXs built and operated by British company Prodrive. Chicherit has driven a FORS PERFORMANCE Renault Clio Supercar in selected World RX events this season, in preparation for his World RX assault in 2018. “I've been working with Stéphane and FORS PERFORMANCE for the past year and have seen how committed and dedicated they are to the sport of rallycross. Supporting Stéphane and Atte in creating G-FORS is a mutually beneficial opportunity to create a way to nurture talent and prepare them for World RX. G-FORS presents an exciting opportunity for drivers as a stepping stone to the World Championship and allows me to keep an eye on up and coming talent in the hope of finding future Champions to drive in World RX,” he said.
