CANADA RX ENTRIES REVEALED
The entry list for the eighth round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Trois-Rivieres in Canada (5 – 6 August) has been released by the FIA.
Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson leads the World RX field into the first flyaway event of the season, thanks to victories in the sixth and seventh rounds in Norway and Sweden. Reigning Champion Mattias Ekstrom will return to World RX action having missed the previous round at Holjes and 2016 Canada RX winner Timmy Hansen will be hoping to notch up his first victory of the season, having started in every final so far in 2017.
Twenty drivers are entered to take part in the World RX category, where Germany’s Rene Muennich will race his ex-Petter Solberg Citroen DS3 Supercar following his first international rallycross podium in the FIA European Rallycross Championship at Holjes. Belgium’s Gergoire Demoustier will return for another World RX appearance driving a second Peugeot 208 WRX Supercar for the DA Racing team, partnering permanent World RX driver Jean-Baptiste Dubourg.
The RX2 International Series will also be in action in Canada, where 17 drivers have entered the event, led by France’s Cyril Raymond. More information on the RX2 category in Canada will be released in due course.
