The Q1 draw for the third round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Hockenheim in Germany has taken place. 

In Qualifying 1 on Friday, Germany’s Rene Muennich will start on pole positon in race one, with Norway’s Andreas Bakkerud on pole in race two. He will be joined by Russia’s Timur Timerzyanov, Sweden’s Timmy Hansen and Finland’s Topi Heikkinen, who finished on the podium at Hockenhiem in 2016. Just four days after winning the opening round of the French Rallycross Championship, France’s Guerlain Chicherit will start on pole in race three, joined by Finland’s Niclas Gronholm and MJP Racing Team Austria team mates Kevin Eriksson and Timo Scheider. 2015 Hockenheim winner and double World RX Champion Petter Solberg will start on the outside of the grid. 

Solberg’s PSRX Volkswagen Sweden team mate Johan Kristoffersson will get his weekend underway from pole position in race four, with the Hoonigan Racing Division Ford Focus RS RX of Ken Block, who finished on the podium at Hockenheim last year and reigning Champion Mattias Ekstrom also in the same race. France’s Sebastien Loeb is on pole position for race five, joined by four individual permanent entries; Latvia’s Reinis Nitiss, France’s Jean-Baptiste Dubourg, Britain’s Guy Wilks and Sweden’s Kevin Hansen.
