ANDREW JORDAN RETURNS TO LYDDEN HILL

Former British Touring Car Champion Andrew Jordan has announced he will once again compete at Lydden Hill – the British leg of the 2017 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy. Jordan will be entered under MJP Racing Team Austria alongside World RX regular Kevin Eriksson. He will drive a Ford Fiesta RX Supercar as he replaces Timo Scheider who has a date conflict.

Jordan has a wealth of experience in rallycross having started his career in a 50bhp MINI in the British Junior Rallycross Championship back in 2004.  In 2014 he finished on the podium at Lydden Hill when he drove an Olsbergs MSE prepared Ford Fiesta.

"It’s brilliant to join MJP Racing Team Austria for the British round of the 2017 FIA World Rallycross Championship at Lydden Hill,” explained 27-year-old Jordan, who will celebrate his 28th birthday the week before he returns to the World RX grid.

He continued: “Rallycross Supercars are so impressive to drive, the level of cars and teams has stepped up massively over the last couple of years and I'm very lucky to get to drive one for MJP Racing Team Austria. Rallycross holds great memories for me from when I started racing at 14-years-old to standing on a World Rallycross podium, I love the sport and I’m hugely proud to compete at my home event. For sure it is just a one off but I think we will have great potential to make some great result. I’d like to thank the team and its sponsors for giving me this opportunity.”

Team owner Max J. Pucher added: “Andrew is a fantastic driver who already achieved a podium at Lydden Hill World RX in 2014. I think that he could do it again and put up a fantastic show with the World RX regulars. We don’t put Andrew under any pressure, but we certainly have high expectations. For sure there will be many fans out there cheering for Andrew and our team. We will give both the best possible opportunity for a fantastic event at Lydden Hill.”

Tickets for World RX of Great Britain (26-28 May) are now on sale via the Lydden Hill website here.
