BAKKERUD LAUNCHES NEW YOUTUBE SERIES

Multiple FIA World Rallycross Championship race winner Andreas Bakkerud has launched a new YouTube channel to give a behind the scenes insight into the everyday life of a top flight World RX driver.

Bakkerud’s new #BakkerudLIFE channel will include content from World RX race weekends, his workout sessions to prepare for racing, holidays, ‘boring’ weeks and the general highs and lows of life from Bakkerud himself, from both a professional and personal perspective. Fresh content will be published every Tuesday, along with additional uploads.

The first episodes will include skiing with his Hoonigan Racing Division team mate, Ken Block, in Park City, bobsleigh racing, secret World RX testing and an insight into Bakkerud’s first experience of driving a rally car in the Norwegian forests.

“I filmed a lot in 2016, and published several videos, but we didn’t make a big deal out of it, and there wasn’t any continuity to our release schedule. There’s obviously always a balance to think about, regarding it not interfering too much with my main objective, which is rallycross,” said Bakkerud. “The timing feels right, and I have the resources to actually get his thing of the ground. My top priority is to be personal and include the audience as much as possible. You’ll get to see a lot from my personal life, meet the people who are closest to me, plus be introduced to a lot of the important people in Hoonigan Racing Division, who mean a lot to me.”

Bakkerud will film the majority of the content himself. “I’m living the dream right now. There are a lot of interesting things happening in 2017. On Thursday this week we’ll release the second episode – a rare ‘behind the scenes’ tour of Hoonigan Racing’s headquarters in Park City, Utah. I hope this will be the series that documents every step towards the ultimate dream, which is to become World Rallycross Champion.”
