Norway’s Petter Solberg continued his strong weekend in Argentina by setting his third consecutive fastest time in Q3 at the Rosario circuit, to extend his lead at the top on the Intermediate Classification with only Q4 left to run before the semi-finals.

In a mirror-image of Q2, Peugeot-Hansen’s Sebatsien Loeb was second fastest in Q3, with Bakkerud again third, all five drivers in the last race of the session going faster than Volkswagen RX Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson, who won the third race of the session from Latvia’s Reinis Nitiss, the pair setting the sixth and seventh overall times. Topi Heikkinen jumped the start in his race and was 11th fastest despite having to take an extra joker lap as penalty.

Robin Larsson won his race as Janis Baumanis and Anton Marklund fought over second position in the final stages, Larsson’s result moving him into the semi-final qualifying positions, ahead of Muennich Motorsport team owner Rene Muennich. Sweden’s Timmy Hansen won the first race of Q3 ahead of Kevin Eriksson and Ken Block and set the ninth fastest time but the three drivers remain outside the top 12.
