Double FIA World Rallycross Champion Petter Solberg set the fastest time for the second qualifying session in a row at Rosario in Argentina, as action got back underway on Sunday morning.

Starting on pole position for the last race of Q2, Solberg took the lead and race victory to set the quickest time, leading home Hoonigan Racing Division’s Andreas Bakkerud, who was third quickest and is third overall. Mattias Ekstrom went wide in the third corner of the last race and dropped from second to fourth as Bakkerud passed Johan Kristoffersson and Ekstrom to chase Solberg. Ekstrom remains second overall with Kristofferson fourth. Sebastien Loeb won the second race of the session after passing OlsbergMSE’s Reinis Nitiss on the first loose section and was top of the time sheets until Solberg bettered his time.

Sweden’s Anton Marklund and Robin Larsson had a close fight in their Q2 race, but Timmy Hansen and America’s Ken Block both lost time, Block sliding off line in the fight in the opening corners of his race and Hansen running third behind Timo Scheider and Kevin Eriksson from the first corner in the first race of the day, but passed Eriksson by the finish. Hansen, Eriksson and Block are currently outside the top 12, but Scheider in inside the semi-final positions in 10th with his Muennich Motorsport team mate Rene Muennich in 12th.
