Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson will start on pole position for semi-final one at the World Rallycross of Sweden, the sixth round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Holjes, having finished as top qualifier at the Intermediate Classification.

Kristoffersson was third fastest in both Q3 and Q4 on Sunday morning to confirm his place at the top of the Intermediate table, after finishing top on day one after Q2. Reigning champion Petter Solberg set the fastest time in Q3 on a drying track, before Hell RX winner Andreas Bakkerud set the fastest time in Q4. Solberg ended up third overall and will join Kristoffersson on the front row of the grid in semi-final one, while Bakkerud and Peugeot-Hansen’s Sebastien Loeb will start on the front row of the grid for semi-final two, Loeb being slowed by problems on the third lap of his Q4 race.

World RX championship leader Mattias Ekstrom was fifth and second fastest in Q3 and Q4 respectively and is fifth overall to start on the second row of the grid in semi-final one, alongside EKS team mate Toomas Heikkinen. Timmy Hansen, who won his Q4 race ahead of Robin Larsson and fellow Peugeot-Hansen driver Davy Jeanney, the Frenchman will join Hansen on the third row of the grid for semi-final one.

In semi-final two, Larsson and Latvia’s Janis Baumanis will start on the second row, with OlsbergsMSE driver Niclas Gronholm having a strong weekend on the track at which he made his World RX debut last season. Joining Gronholm on the in the third row of semi-final two will be Anton Marklund, who was involved with a close race with Hoonigan Racing Division’s Ken Block in Q4, Block just missing out on a place in the semi-finals and will be first reserve this afternoon.
